A World Tour of Kent- Part Six- Folkestone Invicta

It was nice to be back at the BuildKent Stadium. Perhaps this is the year we get to return for a promotion party?

The next stop on our Kentish Road Trip (which was nothing like the film, by the way) was Cheriton Road, the home of that wonderful stripy side Folkestone Invicta.

Invicta were well placed for promotion when last season came to an end, and have been very strong in pre-season, defeating Chatham Town, Deal Town, Cray Valley PM, Faversham Town, Hastings United, Herne Bay, Whitstable Town and Ashford United. They did lose the first one in the sequence, to Ramsgate, but their pre-season stats show nine matches played, eight victories, twenty four goals scored and nine conceded. If that can continue into the new Pitching In Isthmian Premier season they will at the very least be rather exciting to watch.

They have one more friendly, hosting Dover Athletic tomorrow, before the real stuff starts with the visit of Worthing on September 19th.
