All square at the Pilot Field

By Peter Butcher

AFTER a week without any Ryman League football, Hastings United beat the weather tonight (Tuesday) and were rewarded with a 1-1 home draw against Cray Wanderers.

The point was enough to lift the home side out of the relegation places – it was their ninth draw in their last ten league games - and it was also very welcome for Cray, for whom it was the first point in six outings.

It was Cray who dominated the first half, but they had to wait until the 44th minute to go ahead with a Leigh Bremner penalty, his 12th league goal of the season. It followed a foul on Michael Power by debutant Ben Judge.

Hastings had the better of the game after the break and were rewarded with ten minutes left when Bradley Goldberg set up the chance for Zac Attwood (pictured) to square matters.
