Angels legend remains in blue

Herne Bay sign National League South defender Parter

Herne Bay have announced something of a transfer coup, as they have signed Tonbridge Angels full back Jack Parter.

The last time we saw Jack he was an integral part of the Tonbridge Angels side that had to win TWO playoff finals to achieve Isthmian League promotion in 2018-19, defeating first Merstham in our final and then Metropolitan Police in the first- and hopefully last- 'Super' playoff final. He made forty appearances that season and has gone on to be a big part of Angels first two seasons in National League South, but has now decided to move closer to home after two hundred and seventy four appearances for the Longmead club.

He was with Angels for almost seven years with the odd break, and has also played for Ramsgate, Whitstable Town and Welling United.

First team manager, Ben Smith, spoke to the club website on his first signing of the summer:

“Parts is a fantastic signing and once again shows our ambition as a club.
He’s a player that has experienced success and shown great consistency at a higher level.

It’s been in the background since he decided to leave Tonbridge Angels in order to play closer to home and with quality players you have to be patient as, quite rightly, there is a lot of competition for their signature, so we are really pleased that he has bought into the plans here and feels that this is the right environment for his next challenge.”

Jack added:

“I’m looking forward to this new challenge and excited to join a club that is going in the right direction and wants to continue to progress. I can’t wait to get started now and I’m looking forward to the season ahead with the boys and having the fans behind us pushing us on.”
