Long serving Blues manager departs

Barking have just announced the departure of their manager, Justin Gardner.

Club Chairman Rob O'Brien released the following statement:

'Barking Fc formally announce the departure of their manager, Justin Gardner, today. After being at the helm for five seasons (some affected by Covid) we would like to thank him for his hard work and endeavour. Justin's duration in charge of the Blues is second only to Barking legend Eddie McCluskey. Currently the club feels it's time for fresh ideas to move the club forward.

We wish Justin all the best and he is welcome to visit Mayesbrook Park at any time.'

Justin joined the Blues in the summer of 2017 after leaving his post at Billericay Town- where he had been Assistant Manager and Under 21 manager- to take the post. They finished tenth in the North Division during his first season, twelfth during 2018-19, and were then transferred to the South Central Division during two covid-hit campaigns. He departs with them back in the North Division and in fifteenth place.
