Another two Gulls

Canvey Island last night announced two more additions prior to today's FA Cup match with Ware.

Defender Ben Sampayo is the latest member of last season's Heybridge Swifts squad to move to the Island (that makes half a dozen). Ben is a former Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion youth who has also played for Brentwood Town, Grays Athletic, Bishop's Stortford, East Thurrock United and Aveley. He moved to Scraley Road in January and made ten appearances before the season crashed to an early end.

Joining him is a striker, this one on loan. Tom Blackwell moves across from the City of Chelmsford, but you might know him already, as he's only been with the Clarets for a fortnight, moving in from Coggeshall Town, where he made eleven appearances last season. Nineteen years old, he's a product of the Seed Growers youth system.
