Are we about to have new league leaders? A guide to tonight's action.

By Ian Townsend

We’ve a big night of Bostik League and FA Trophy action tonight. Here are the details you need.

Tonbridge Angels have been sitting comfortably at the summit of the Bostik Premier Division since August Bank Holiday Monday- but their reign could end tonight. Third place Bognor Regis Town, unbeaten all season and with victory over Angels on Saturday fresh in their minds, host a Folkestone Invicta side suffering a bit of a slump, with four straight league defeats. If Bognor, who are currently in third place, manage a victory it will take them a point clear of Steve McKimm’s men.

Fifth place Enfield Town are also in action, as they entertain Brightlingsea Regent. Town lost their first league match of the season at Margate on Saturday, whilst Regent have won only one of their last nine, and sit in twentieth place, two points off the bottom. Defeat for Regent could move them down a place if Burgess Hill Town continue their resurgence with victory over Wingate & Finchley at the Green Elephants Stadium, but Gate, under new managers Nicky Storey and Glen Little, got their new era off to a positive start with victory over Leatherhead on Saturday. They’ll need to improve their away form to defeat the Hillians, as they’ve won only one away match all season, whilst Hill won twice at home last week, defeating Tooting & Mitcham United and Haringey Borough.

AFC Hornchurch lost their first league match of the season at Corinthian-Casuals on Saturday, and when you add in knockout fixtures have now lost three in a row. They’ll be looking to bounce back against a Lewes side who have followed an amazing August and a super September with a rather ordinary October, having- like the Urchins- lost three in a row. Kick off for this match at Bridge Avenue is at 7.45 PM- indeed, only Burgess Hill kick off earlier, 7.30 PM.

Moving on to the South Central Division, Chipstead take on Egham Town. The Chips are in fourteenth whilst the Sarnies are in eighteenth, and the home side are in good form, having lost only one of their last six. Their visitors have yet to find any consistency, having beaten higher division Staines Town and taken Brightlingsea Regent to a replay in cup competitions whilst losing bread and butter matches in the league, but this will only be their second league match in a month, so their position may be rather false. A win for Chipstead could take them as high as sixth, so tightly packed is the middle of the table.

In the FA Trophy, Soham Town Rangers travel to AFC Mansfield having drawn the original tie 0-0. Their opponents sit in fourteenth place in Evo-Stik First Division East. Mansfield have a loss and a draw from their last two home matches, having last won at home on September 11th. Ramsgate host Phoenix Sports in an all-South East clash having drawn 1-1 in the initial tie, whilst we have an all-South Central clash too, as Westfield take on Ashford Town following a 0-0 draw at the weekend. The latter game kicks off at 7.30 PM, whilst all the others start at the more traditional 7.45.

We’ll bring you a round up of the action tomorrow morning.
