Baggies up to sixth- and Chips triumph in the Cup

Badshot Lea restricted to a point by the Boys in Blue- but Chipstead breach fortress South Park

We had three matches scheduled for Pitching In Isthmian South Central last night, but ended up with one.

Badshot Lea were in magnificent form, and scoring goals for fun. The Baggies, who welcomed Met Police, had won ten of their previous eleven matches in all competitions (and the one they lost went to a penalty shootout). That run had seen them score thirty goals, and they would have been confident of another victory over the Boys in Blue, but they ended up disappointed as the visitors fought hard and claimed a point. Met reached the first half ahead, Alex Body’s goal on twenty eight minutes the difference, but the hosts levelled soon after the restart, Kai Allsopp making it one-one. Nine minutes from time it looked as if the Baggies had triumphed, Adam New converting a spot kick, but there was still time for the visitors to get something from the match, and they duly delivered just that, Mason Galloway levelling with four minutes left.

Badshot Lea are up to sixth, and travel to Hanworth Villa on Saturday. Met are seventeenth, and host second place Southall in their next match.

Velocity Cup

South Park Reigate and Chipstead met at Whitehall Lane in an all South-Central clash. The Sparks had been superb at home, and have won their previous eight home matches, including five in October- but that record came to an end as the Chips eventually triumphed. The hosts went ahead on nineteen minutes, Deondre Date with his third goal in four matches, but the visitors were level just before the break, Abel Vendrells with the equaliser. With only fifteen minutes to go the Chips went ahead, Arlie Desanges taking his tally for the season up to eight, but with eight minutes left Aiden Brown’s fourth goal in five matches took us to penalties. It turned out that the Chips were significantly better than the Sparks from the spot, winning three-one.
