Barrington back- and makes a scoring return

Marcel Barrington returns to Cray Valley

Cray Valley PM were comfortable winners over Merstham on Tuesday night, and one of the shining lights of an impressive second half performance was substitute Marcel Barrington, who came on just after the restart and scored his sides fourth and final goal.

Marcel has recently been plying his trade not too far away from the Artic Stadium, with Erith & Belvedere. He managed nine appearances for the Deres before departing, scoring once.

Prior to his time with Erith, forward Marcel was perhaps the high point of Herne Bay's Pitching In Isthmian Premier 22-23. He managed to score sixteen goals during his thirty eight matches at the Kent seaside last season.

At the end of the 21-22 season Marcel was announced as a member of our Pitching In Isthmian South East Team of the Year, after lighting up the campaign during his first spell with Cray Valley. He scored twenty two Millers goals as they made it all the way to the Play Off Semi Final.

At the start of his career Marcel was a youth player with Stoke City, and also spent time with Leicester City. After leaving the Midlands he ended up at Walton Casuals, where he had two spells. He also played for Tooting & Mitcham United, Margate and Hendon, before stepping up to the National League with Braintree Town, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Concord Rangers, Dartford and Welling United.
