Becks show their bottle!

By Ian Townsend

Beckenham hit the top, and we’ve wins for Chatham, Chichester, Cray Valley, Whitehawk and Three Bridges. It’s our Pitching In Isthmian South East Round up.

Beckenham Town were made to work for their three points at Lancing on Saturday, and had to produce a similar amount of perspiration to defeat Corinthian last night. It looked easy when Louie Theophanous and Harvey Brand gave them a two goal lead after just six minutes, but Corinthian found their resilience and bounced back to draw level, Josh Dorling seven minutes before the break and Ahmed Salim Futa ten minutes after it shocking the home faithful. It took Becks until the very last minute to clinch victory, a goal from Jamie Humphris sending the home crowd wild and his side to the top of the table. Image courtesy of the club.

Whitehawk travelled to Littlehampton Town and in front of a crowd of five hundred and thirty nine struck the only goal of the game to take victory. Charlie Harris scored if, after just twelve minutes, and the Hawks are second.

Ramsgate slip to third after a goalless draw at Sittingbourne, who saw Bagusan Graham dismissed; whilst Chichester City are fourth, courtesy of a late goal from Kaleem Haitham which defeated Burgess Hill Town.

Two goals in the last fifteen minutes saw Chatham Town defeat Faversham Town. Dan Bradshaw got the first, Joshua Ogunseye made sure of the points a minute from time.

Three Bridges saw Keiron Pamment give them the lead against VCD Athletic on seventeen minutes, but then went down to ten men as Bryan Villavicencio saw red. Parity was soon restored as Vickers had Joe Bingham dismissed soon afterwards, and five minutes after the break the ten v ten match had a second goal, Kevin Rivera scoring it for the hosts, who are up to seventh.

Cray Valley PM got their first win of the campaign with a narrow victory over East Grinstead Town. Denzel Gayle scored the only goal, six minutes after the break.

Finally, Haywards Heath and Lancing played out a fiercely fought Sussex derby. Tom Cadman and Tom Collins gave Heath a two-nil lead after just sixteen minutes, but the Lancers are made of stern stuff and earned their first point after Louis Veneti grabbed his fourth of the campaign and Ashley Mutongerwa made it two. Marc Lida Gballou saw red late on for Heath.
