BetVictor Isthmian League Manager of the Month Awards- sponsored by Anderson Travel: February 2020

The winners of the November Manager of the Month Awards- sponsored by the fabulous folk at Anderson Travel- have just been announced. Here are our winners:

Given the weather we had in February it’s perhaps appropriate that our trophies are waterproof! Here are our Manager of the Month winners, sponsored by Anderson Travel.

Premier

We’re off to Hayes Lane, (temporary) home of Cray Wanderers, where we are about to pay tribute to the wonderful work done by manager Tony Russell.

Tony has been doing wonderful work for a considerable period of time, not just in February, but this isn’t a lifetime achievement award so we’ll focus just on last month, if that’s ok! Four matches played, with three wins and a draw, gives Tony our February award on a points-per-game basis, and it’s extremely well deserved, particularly given that his Wands side went through January unbeaten too, and actually haven’t yet lost a game this decade.

Well done to Tony, and to all at Cray.

North

This is becoming rather repetitive, but the good people of Maldon & Tiptree won’t really care as they pick up yet another award! Seven matches and six victories saw the Jammers go well clear at the top of the North Division table, and sees manager Wayne Brown deservedly honoured yet again. Congratulations go once more to Wayne and his high-performing side.

South Central

We’ve already visited Hanwell Town to give out our Performance of the Month Award, and we’re off back there once more to congratulate Wayne Carter and Chris Moore on another job well done, as they are picking up the Manager of the Month prize too!

The South Central Division had strong competition for this award in February, and in the end the margins were so tight we had to go to goals scored before the Geordies duo emerged victorious! Four matches, four victories, and we’re quite sure that they aren’t finished yet, and will want March to be just as productive. Congrats to Wayne and Chris and to all at the Powerday Stadium.

South East

We’ve already visited one side named Cray, so just to balance things up we’re heading off to visit another. Cray Valley PM boss Kevin Watson also had a rival for this award, and once more with two clubs having the same number of average points per game it came right down to goal difference, which clinched it for the Millers boss. With four matches and four victories, Cray Valley are not just firm favourites to qualify for the Playoffs, they are still firmly in the race for automatic promotion too.

Congratulations to Kevin and to all at the Badgers Sports Ground.
