BetVictor Isthmian League- supporters predictions 2019/20: Bognor Regis Town

It’s time to Rock(s)! We head to the south coast, and visit Nyewood Lane, home of Bognor Regis Town.

We asked supporters of our BetVictor Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

Lee Roberts likes giving his opinion- indeed it’s his job on a Saturday afternoon, when he is the presenter of Rocks Radio, bringing Bognor fans around the world (although not in Worthing, the signal is blocked there) news of their green and white favourites. Here he looks back at last season, and forward at the next one.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Lee and the Sussex Senior Cup

Lee and the Sussex Senior Cup

The away win at Worthing. It was my first Bognor v Worthing derby. I am also the lead commentator for Rocks radio (Bognors’ in house internet radio station) so the fact I was able to commentate on a derby day win made it an amazing day.

2. And your worst moment?

Throwing away a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Worthing. We were cruising at two nil, when we did something that became very common during the season and let the opponents back into the game. The away fans were very vocal and taunting after the match which made the result even worse.

3. How will you do this season?

I'm expecting at least a play off place. I would also hope we will still be in the title picture on the final day of the season. Last season was not a good one.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

The games against Worthing; as I said earlier in the article a match against Worthing is a real derby game.

I'm also looking forward to the away games at Horsham as well as Bowers and Pitsea as they will be new grounds for me.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Lewes, I love visiting the Dripping Pan. I love grounds with character and this one has it in abundance. I've always found the people at Lewes very friendly and the food is some of the best in our league.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Worthing, our closest game and it's always the first fixture I look for when the fixtures are released. But you’d probably worked that out already.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Get to the town early, its a seaside resort so Bognor is well worth a visit. Once you have finished your drinking in the town make sure you visit our club house Seasons.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

I have only been following the Rocks for about two seasons so this is a hard question to answer. For me it is Doug Tuck, he’s made over 300 appearances for Bognor Regis FC so he is getting close to the title of club legend, if he's not already there.

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?

Bognor Regis Town, Carshalton Athletic, Worthing, Lewes, Enfield Town

Right, you've read the thoughts of Lee, do you want to be next? If you'd like to represent your club, then please send an email to townsendaround@gmail.com and we shall see what we can do!
