Blues to host pro-celebrity match in aid of Mental Health charities

Bishop’s Stortford’s Pro-Kit Stadium the venue for a huge charity match on Sunday 19th May

Former Bishop’s Stortford and Cheshunt manager Gordon Boeteng has organised a Pro-Celebrity football match in aid of mental health charity Mind.

The match will take place at Bishop’s Pro-Kit Stadium, and feature a number of former professional footballers as well as a large number of celebrities in shorts! Gordon decided to try to make a difference after losing family and friends to mental illness. He explained:

“The reason why this event was set up is to raise awareness of a condition that has been common for years, but often overlooked due to other forms of illnesses. Mental illness has been left in the shadows.

Mental illness is a very serious matter and does not discriminate, we can all suffer from different forms of it, so raising awareness is key.”

There will also be a raffle, which has been supported by local business.

Celebrities expected to play include Big Brother’s Slick Vic, Marlon Wallen and Danny Wisker, TOWIE stars Harry Lee, Tom McDonnell, Jayden Beales and Jamie Reed, Hollyoaks and Eastenders Adam Oakley and Dream Team Sky One’s Dan Edwards, Warren Waugh and Ryan Lee.
