Bognor take another from the Pompey production line

A new left back for Bognor Regis Town

Bognor Regis Town regularly sign players from Portsmouth, and although we're probably almost five months away from the start of a new season the Rocks have captured another who has grown up listening to the Pompey chimes, as full back Joe Hancott has signed on at Nyewood Lane.

The Rocks faithful will perhaps remember Joe, as he made three appearances for the club in the autumn of 2019- a two-nil win over Haringey Borough, a five-one win over Leatherhead, and a surprising four-nil defeat to Potters Bar Town- all three fixtures at Nyewood Lane.

Joe made three appearances for the Portsmouth first team, after making his debut aged just sixteen. He told the Bognor Regis Observer:

"I am really looking forward to joining up with the lads and playing for Bognor next season. Having spent time at the club I saw what it was all about and love the approach. I've also chatted with Dan (Smith, now at Eastleigh) and Ethan Robb (now at Brentford) and seen how they have progressed, and I am ready to give it another go. I definitely have some unfinished business and believe I have a lot to offer."
