Bostik Supporters Predictions 18/19: Haringey Borough

We head to Haringey Borough, where people sing because they're happy that way, and get the views of Jake Shields.

We asked supporters of our Bostik League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

We’re visiting the home of the only club on White Hart Lane- where Jake Shields will tell tales of a marvellous season ended and anticipate another successful year ahead.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

There were many great moments last season including facing Leyton Orient in the FA Trophy and being one game away from the 1st round proper of the FA Cup. But my favourite moment was winning promotion to the premier division through the play offs, beating Heybridge Swifts and Canvey Island.

2. And your worst moment?

There weren’t many bad moments last season, but the worst moment would have to be losing to Heybridge Swifts in the FA Cup with us being one game away from possibly facing league opposition. I could also possibly say losing to Leyton Orient, but it was such a good experience and terrific atmosphere it wasn’t really a bad moment.

3. How will you do this season?

I would love to say we will win the league by ten points but I will be realistic and say that we will cement our place in the premier division, by finishing mid table and will surprise the rest of the teams in the league. Come on Boro!

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

It seems like there will be some good away games next season with there being a few seaside based teams. But I am mainly looking forward to games against fellow north London opposition; Enfield Town and Wingate & Finchley. And maybe we could develop some new friendly rivalries.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

I haven’t been to too many away grounds so I will have to go with Hertford Town- which also has a nice pub route on the way to the ground.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Although they are not geographically very close we did develop a bit of a competitive rivalry with Heybridge Swifts last season, after playing them in some important games. But as we are in a different divisions this year, I am looking forward to visiting fellow North London teams; Enfield Town and Wingate & Finchley.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Any away supporters will need to be prepared to try and out sing the home fans. (They might need to bring a cow bell, too!)

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?
Favourite player has to be Michael O’Donoghue, a brilliant left - back who marauds up and down the flank.

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?
Folkestone Invicta, Bishop’s Stortford, Whitehawk, AFC Hornchurch, Leatherhead

Where next?

One in for Moatsiders, one in and one out for Dorking Merstham sign a Rook- Wanderers lose a former Blue and gain a former Tanner
