Bowers bring in Colchester forward

Ollie Sims heads to the Len Salmon

Late on Friday Bowers and Pitsea announced the signing of Colchester United forward Ollie Sims on an initial 28 day loan. The eagle-eyed amongst you might have noticed that he made his debut as a second half substitute at Horsham yesterday, although it was something of a baptism of fire given his new side lost four-nil.

Sims has been at Colchester since joining the club as an under 12, and signed his first professional contract- aged seventeen- back in January. This isn't his first experience of the Isthmian League Premier Division, as he spent some time on loan at Brightlingsea Regent in 2017-18, playing against Dulwich Hamlet, Merstham and Burgess Hill Town. He had his first senior call up for United at the end of the 2017-18 season, when he was in the squad for a trip to Exeter City.

He is a regular in the U's Under 23 squad.
