Aveley last night confirmed that midfielder Wyan Reid has departed Parkside to play for Brentwood Town, only two days after he was playing for the Millers against his new club.
Wyan has made six appearances for the Millers already this season, scoring twice, and made forty two appearances last season, with seven goals. He came through the Academy and Reserve sides at Parkside before becoming a mainstay of the first team, and his departure will undoubtedly be something of a blow.
Whilst this move has not yet been announced by Town, Millers Chief Executive Craig Johnson has wished him well on the club website. He explained:
"Wyan feels his ambition of becoming a professional footballer will be accelerated by plying his trade for his new club, who have guaranteed him a starting place in 'every game', something, sadly, we could not match.
Wyan goes with our best wishes, and I sincerely hope he has made the right decision and his career goes from strength to strength."
