Brentwood sign two time Billericay title winner

Swaine heads from National League South to the North Division

Brentwood Town raised eyebrows at the end of May when Chairman Jez Dickinson spoke of "realistic ambitions to be in National League South within three years"- and tonight they began to work towards that goal by bringing in a National League South defender, as Rob Swaine signed on at the Arena.

Isthmian League fans will remember Rob as a mainstay of the Billericay Town side who won our Premier Division title in 2017-18- along with the Velocity Trophy and the Essex Senior Cup. He was also part of the Billericay side that won the Premier Division in 2012, and went on to captain the Bromley side which won National League South in 2015.

In between his first and second Billericay spells he played for Thurrock and Chelmsford City, and after leaving the club he went back to Chelmsford, moved on to Maidstone United, and spent last season with Welling United.

Manager Adam Flanagan, speaking to the club website, stated:

“It’s a massive statement of intent by this football club to sign a player of Rob's calibre and a testament to the direction the club is now headed in under our chairman.”
