Gillingham winger Toby makes his debut at Sittingbourne in their win over Lancing

Sittingbourne gave a competitive debut to Gillingham winger Toby Bancroft in their four-nil win over Lancing on Saturday.

Toby is anything but new to the Pitching In Isthmian League, as he's had several loan spells here whilst a Gills player. He played for Wingate and Finchley six times during 2019-20, scoring in their last match of the season at Worthing. Last season he made nine appearances for Margate, scoring in the first- a win at Brightlingsea Regent, and he previously played for Ramsgate, making half a dozen appearances prior to his Wingate stay.

Toby came through the ranks at Gillingham, starting as an under ten before signing on scholarship terms in November 2017 and going on to play regularly for the Under 18's side. He then graduated to the first team squad.
