Centre back Niren signs on at Westfield

Westfield yesterday announced the signing of centre back Niran Butler, who moves over from Pitching In South Central rivals Sutton Common Rovers.

Niran came through the youth setup at Barnet, and first came to our attention in the summer of 2019 when he signed for Staines Town, where he made fifteen appearances. He moved on to play for Maldon and Tiptree in summer last year, and made fourteen appearances as a Jammer before the second campaign in a row came to a premature end.

He has made ten appearances for Rovers this season, the last of them, with some irony, as his former club lost four-two to his new club on December 4th. He must have done something to impress new boss Simon Lane.

He made his Westfield bow in last night's Surrey Senior Cup defeat against neighbours Woking.
