Canaries up next for cup winners!

By David Watters

Dereham Town are looking forward to taking on Norwich City in the Norfolk Invitation Cup this summer after lifting the Norfolk Senior Cup for the fourth time in the Ryman North club's history.

A first-half strike from man-of-the match Rhys Logan and a Luke Tuttle goal after the break saw the Magpies defeat Eastern Counties League champions and next season's Ryman League newboys Norwich United 2-0.

A crowd of 1072 saw Friday night's win at Norwich City's Carrow Road as Dereham bounced back from last season's defeat to Wroxham to lift the cup for the fourth time in the last 11 seasons, pictured.

The Magpies will now take on a Norwich City XI on July 15 and a delighted club spokesman said: "Congratulations to Matt [Henman, manager] Simmo, Ady and all the players for their part in winning the Norfolk Senior Cup for the fourth time in the club's history."
