Ollie Canfer signs on at Bury Town

Former Stowmarket Town midfielder Ollie Canfer made his latest Bury Town debut on Saturday, thrust straight into the first team before their match at Maldon & Tiptree was abandoned due to floodlight failure.

Ollie moved to Stow- his hometown club- in the summer, scoring three times in twelve matches. He was previously with Felixstowe and Walton United, scoring nine goals from his twenty four matches last season. He has a fine strike rate from midfield- he managed twelve goals in the 21-22 campaign, had six in eleven matches when 21-21 shuddered to an early end, and nine in fifteen matches before the premature departure of 2019-20.

He joined the Seasiders from Mildenhall Town in November 2019, and spent 18-19 with Stow, a season which saw him again rather deadly in front of goal. He was previously with Bury, Brightlingsea Regent, AFC Sudbury, Ramsgate (his SatNav must have gone badly wrong on that occasion) and Needham Market.
