Chats march on

A round up of Sunday action- FA Cup and a friendly match

We had an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round match yesterday, as our very own Chatham Town travelled to deepest Sussex to take on Little Common, who are actually quite small but rather refined!

Two hundred and thirty seven people turned up to watch, and they saw the Chats triumph by two goals to one. The winner came two minutes from time, Matt Bodkin popping up to score. Prince Domafriyie had given the visitors an early lead, but the hosts equalised through Russell Eldridge just after the hour and it looked to be going to a replay before Bodkin decided otherwise.

Watch the highlights below, including an acrobatic goal celebration!

We also had a friendly match, as Folkestone Invicta welcomed Ashford United, winning four-two. The first seven minutes saw the sides score a goal each, Rogers opening the scoring for Invicta in the first minute before Ramadan equalised, but the hosts led at the break after Yusuff scored from the spot five minutes before half time. An equaliser arrived once more, this one from Olumide, but in the last fifteen minutes Green and Olutade handed Invicta the plaudits.
