Congratulations to Danny, King of Casuals

Corinthian-Casuals keeper Danny Bracken reaches a milestone moment

Last night's match between Corinthian-Casuals and Carshalton Athletic turned out to be momentous for a couple of reasons. The first was that it turned out to be a pulsating two-two draw which went to a penalty shootout, and the second was that the man saving two of Athletic's penalties in that shootout, Danny Bracken, was making his five hundredth Casuals appearance.

Danny, who arrived at the club from Tooting & Mitcham United in 2010, was presented with a memento of his achievement before the match, but what will stick longest in the memory will be his reception from the Casuals faithful and his role in their latest victory. He has been part of many victories in his time with the club, indeed has been instrumental in them, and we would like to add our congratulations on his achieving such a milestone.

His brother- and manager- James Bracken paid tribute on social media, saying:

'No matter where my career takes me personally it’ll always be one of my biggest privileges to have had my brother play so many games for me. Fitting but unsurprising that he saved 2 penalties last night in his 500th game. Next stop 600! Congratulations Danny.'
