Cray have another reason to celebrate

Our South East Champions now finally have a home of their own- or at least the land to build it on

Back in November we confirmed that Cray Wanderers had received the news they had waited so many years for- planning permission for a ground of their own. Well yesterday our South East Champions were celebrating once more, as they finally took possession of the land on which their new stadium will be built.

Chairman Gary Hillman yesterday announced that the purchase had been completed- so now the building can start. Writing on social media, he explained:

'Football's coming home!! Finally completed today on the purchase of what will be the first ever ground in our 159 Years history! So pleased for this great flub and community- thanks to everyone who’s helped to achieve this milestone.'

Congratulations- we've been saying that a lot lately- to all at Cray. We look forward to visiting you at Flamingo Park- or whatever the stadium will be called when it is finally built!

Where next?

Bostik Matchday: Robins fly high! It was winner take all at Colston Avenue. Carshalton Athletic took the plaudits in an enthralling match, whilst it was so near yet so far for Bishop's Stortford.
Survival Saturday! Or if you happen to be at the other end of the table, Certainty Saturday? It's our preview of tomorrow's crucial action- and it'll give you a headache.
