Crook of the Dock!

Tilbury bring in National League midfielder Billy

Tilbury this morning took the unusual step of announcing their first signing of the summer via the Non League Paper, who revealed that the new man on the dock is Chelmsford City midfielder Billy Crook.

Billy came through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace before signing his first professional deal at Peterborough United. He had loan spells at Weymouth and Histon, but Isthmian watchers will undoubtedly remember him from his periods at Tooting & Mitcham United, Dulwich Hamlet, Carshalton Athletic, Met Police, Enfield Town and East Thurrock United. He was last with us- as a Rock- at the start of the 2019-20 campaign, playing eight matches and opening the scoring in a draw at Cray Wanderers.

Further up the pyramid, he won National League South promotion with Braintree Town, came close with Dartford, and saw last season truncated once more whilst a Claret.

Billy is interviewed in the paper, and we're not going to steal their thunder by repeating his words here, but he seems rather excited by the challenge ahead!
