Debut delight for Kavanagh

By Peter Butcher

TWO recent signings were the key men as Met Police moved to within two points of the Ryman Premier play-off places with a 1-0 home win over Margate tonight (Wednesday).

Former Sutton man Tom Kavanagh, who joined the Met earlier in the day, marked his debut with the only goal of the game, aided by a deflection, in the 66th minute.

It was not such a good night for Margate’s Joe Vines, who joined them from Cray last week. He was sent off after receiving his second yellow card shortly after the goal, and the ten men could find no way back.

Where next?
