Julian Dicks returns to Heybridge Swifts

Heybridge Swifts have announced the return of Julian Dicks, who takes over as manager for a third time.

The former Birmingham City, West Ham United, Liverpool and- of course- Canvey Island player had his first spell in charge of the club in 2018, and eventually steered them to Play Off victory at the end of the 18-19 campaign only for them to be cruelly denied promotion on points per game. He departed to take up a coaching position at West Bromwich Albion, but returned to Scraley Road for the start of the 21-22 campaign, only to depart once more a few months later. A spell as Assistant Manager at Watford followed, but he returns to Swifts to replace recently departed Steve Tilson.

His previous managerial experience also includes a spell in charge at Grays Athletic, and he also spent time managing West Ham United Ladies.

The 'new' manager gives his first interview here.
