Dockers bring in Athletic striker

Stokes signs on at Chadfields

Shortly before kick off in yesterday's FA Trophy match at Aylesbury United, Tilbury announced the signing of striker Tony Stokes from Grays Athletic. The player made his Dockers debut as a substitute with twenty five minutes remaining, but sadly couldn't prevent his side leaving the competition after a penalty shootout defeat.

Tony started his career at West Ham United, playing on loan at Stevenage, Brighton and Hove Albion and Rushden and Diamonds, as well as spending some time in Hungary with Újpest.

He then spent a number of years with Concord Rangers, turned out for those other Islanders, Canvey Island, and has since played for Bowers and Pitsea and Brentwood Town. He made twenty four appearances for Athletic last season, scoring thirteen goals, and had two more goals from five appearances this season.
