Double Chips!

Arlie Desanges and Jacob Sewell strengthen the Chipstead attack

Chipstead have announced the arrival of two new strikers, as they prepare for the forthcoming season.

Arlie Desanges has been scoring goals for fun with Sutton Athletic in the SCEFL Premier. He got twenty eight last season alone, forty three during 21-22 when he was helping fire Athletic to promotion.

He does have some Pitching In Isthmian experience, as he spent a little time with South Park Reigate during the pandemic period- making a debut in defeat against Barking as the 2019-20 campaign crashed to a close and playing twice more when the 20-21 campaign started (and almost as quickly, ended).

He has also turned out for Welling Town and Glebe, and played Under 18 football for one of our former clubs, Thamesmead Town.

Another striker, Jacob Sewell, was absolutely prolific in the Isthmian Youth League before suffering a serious injury which has marred his last two seasons. Whilst with Carshalton Athletic he once scored five goals AGAINST the Chips in a seven-nil win, so it's not a surprise they remember him! They all came in the second half, and perhaps he likes to group his goals closely together, as the same campaign saw hims core four first half goals against Tooting & Mitcham United. He finished theat particular campaign with the Golden Boot, scoring twenty seven goals- twelve more than his closest rival for that award.

He actually made a first team debut for the Chips after making a dual registration move from the Robins during that same campaign, 2018-19. He scored twice in sixteen appearances, nearly all of them as a sub, before playing four times more the following season and scoring a last minute equaliser against Marlow, in a match which his side somehow went on to win.
