Double Tangerine

Juwon Akintunde and Reanu Grossett are new at Ashford Town

Ashford Town had two debutants in Saturday's defeat at Marlow.

Juwon Akintunde, a forward, has already played Pitching In isthmian South Central football this season, with Southall. He signed for The All in October on a dual registration deal from Royston Town, although he only managed two- unbeaten- appearances.

Juwon made nineteen appearances for Northwood last season, scoring five goals, after joining the Woods from Uxbridge, where had scored two goals in seven Uxbridge appearances last season, adding to the eleven in thirty nine he managed the season prior to that.

He previously played for Aylesbury United, Harrow Borough, Chalfont St Peter and East Grinstead Town, and earlier in his career turned out for Queens Park Rangers and Brentford at youth level.

Reanu Grossett, who emerged from the bench on Saturday, also has some South Central experience this season, playing three times for Corinthian Casuals and scoring once. He was part of the Westfield squad at the start of their 18/19 campaign, although doesn't seem to have played, and has played beach football for England. As part of the Isle of Wight Beach Soccer side, he won the Men’s English National League Super Final in 2021, as well as picking up the most valuable player award.

Away from sandy surfaces, he has also played for Colliers Wood United, Spalding United, and for Watford based Sun Sports (not to be confused with the back pages of a red top newspaper).
