Edwards is a Saint

Chalfont St Peter have announced the signing of attacking midfielder Shamal Edwards, who was with Bedfont Sports last season.

Shamal made eleven appearances for Sports last season, and was particularly effective when higher level opposition came to call. In the FA Cup First Qualifying Round against Lewes he got the second goal as his side slayed their first giants of the campaign, and then when Carshalton Athletic arrived in the next round he scored both goals in a two-nil victory.

He also managed a fourth goal of the season as his side won five-nil at Chipstead.

Prior to his time with Sports he was part of the Under 23 side at Tooting & Mitcham United, playing alongside the likes of Hady Ghandour and Abraham Odoh, these days playing at Charlton Athletic and Rochdale. He also played a few games for the first team, ending 2019-20 with six matches under his belt. He's still got the time on his hands to follow them, and all at the Saints will look forward to watching him try.
