Blues capture former Herne Bay striker

Margate have announced the signing of striker Jake Embery, who arrives at Hartsdown Park just as Norman Wabo departs.

Jake departed Herne Bay, aged just nineteen, in February 2019- a highly sought after signing after he scored forty nine goals in eighty five appearances at Winch's Field. His two years with the Stones were not only hit by the pandemic but also by injury, dislocating a shoulder and suffering an ankle problem which stopped the Gallagher Stadium faithful ever seeing the best of him. He was invited back for pre-season, but decided instead to head back to the Kent coast.

Manager Jay Saunders told the club website:

“Jake ticks a lot of boxes for the type of player I look for. He is young, hungry and keen to learn and improve his game. He has lots of natural talent and with more games under his belt, I think that he can prove to be a real handful at this level.

He has a good goal-scoring record and I am confident he will settle in really quickly at the club and I’m looking forward to welcoming him."
