East Thurrock United yesterday announced the arrival of two new players at the club, as Kenny Aileru and Hafeez Sanuzi signed on for 2020-21.
Defender Hafeez is so tall he can almost polish the underside of the crossbar with his head (not that we'd recommend it). He first came to notice as an Under 21 with Billericay Town, and then moved into the senior game at Grays Athletic. He was part of the promotion-winning Cheshunt side in 2018-19, leaving last summer to play for Concord Rangers- although he did return for one more match in October. He previously played for Solihull Moors, Bishop’s Stortford, Burgess Hill Town and Whitehawk, amongst others. He also spent some time at Margate last season, primarily playing as a forward, so he's obviously rather versatile.
Midfielder Kenny moves through the Dartford Tunnel from Phoenix Sports, where he came up through the reserve side to make himself a fixture in the first team. He made twenty four appearances last season, scoring eight goals and being instrumental in quite a few more. A former Aldershot Town youth player, he also turned out for Clapton.
