A quartet of Oysterboys

Four in for Whitstable Town

Whitstable Town last night announced the arrival of four players, as manager Lloyd Blackman strengthened his squad substantially ahead of the start of the new season.

First in was former Maidstone United and Margate man Tom Mills. Defender Tom spent best part of seven years with the Stones as they climbed from the Isthmian to the National League, starting there as an Under 18 player. He moved to Gate in the Summer of 2018, appearing in many of our Supporters Teams of the Year at the end of the 2018-19 campaign, during which he featured forty four times.

Midfielder Liam Gillies has only been away for ten minutes, as he left the Belmont to join Sevenoaks Town in February, played five matches before the lockdown, and now has decided to return to the club. He previously played for Dartford.

Another midfielder, Jay Hards, ended last season with the club- playing three times on loan from Gillingham. He has now returned permanently to the Belmont, leaving Priestfield- where he has been since the age of thirteen.

Finally, Victor Aiyelabola was at Herne Bay for part of last season, making four appearances and scoring against his new club in the Velocity Trophy. He went on to feature for Erith and Belvedere in the SCEFL, and previously played for Hollands and Blair, Rochester United and- as a youth- Dartford.
