A Rams refund

Ramsgate management team and squad to reimburse fans who witnessed their Enfield Town debacle

Ramsgate manager Matt Longhurst has announced that he and his players are willing to reimburse travelling supporters who were unfortunate enough to witness the eight-one FA Trophy defeat at Enfield Town last Saturday. The Rams boss, writing on the club website, explained:

'As manager of Ramsgate Football Club, Saturday was a very disappointing and unacceptable result. As a group we must take collective responsibility and I am at the top of that, as manager.
It has been decided that between us, the staff and the players, we will be refunding all away supporters that attended the match as an apology for the lack of quality and desire shown.'

Advising that supporters who travelled should make themselves known at the next home game to get their money back, he goes on to explain in depth the issues created by his squad's extensive injury list, but ends on this note:

'There are much bigger issues than Saturday in people’s minds, but we must still recognise that it wasn’t acceptable. We must apologise to supporters that attended the game and move on. We must now look forward to the restart and what it brings.'
