Hornets to have new home 'by the end of November'

Horsham new stadium proceeding on schedule

By the end of 2018 Horsham FC's time as wandering nomads should have come to an end. The Hornets, who since moving from their former Queen Street Stadium have shared with Worthing, Horsham YMCA and- currently- Lancing, finally got planning permission to build a new out-of-town stadium at Hop Oast in March last year, and Chief Executive John Lines is delighted with progress.

In an article on the club website, he explains that 'the car park area has been surfaced with a layer of Tarmac... and beyond that, the match pitch has started to be levelled and the training pitch will follow.' He adds; 'By the end of June we should have the clubhouse foundations in place, the pitches levelled and be more or less ready to install the state of the art LED floodlighting. Soon after that the clubhouse should commence and if all goes well we should be looking at the end of November or so to be ready for opening.'

You can read the complete article by visiting the club website here- but we thought we'd also share these images, courtesy of our League Cup sponsors Velocity Sports Limited. Velocity are responsible for the pitch, and we're sure they will do a fantastic job, just like they did at Aveley, Carshalton Athletic and many more.
