Kingstonian last night announced the start of what could be a beautiful attacking partnership, as Margate's Kadell Daniel and Whyteleafe's Cory Andrews signed on at King George's Field.
Daniel is nominally a midfielder, playing behind or our wide of the main striker- but his strike rate is rather exceptional for a number ten, and he notched thirteen goals for Gate last season, and four in six matches during the prior campaign. The Guyana international has also played for Dover Athletic, Leatherhead and Dulwich Hamlet, after coming through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace and also turning out for Charlton Athletic.
Andrews is also more of a midfielder than a striker, generally wearing the number seven shirt. He notched seven goals last season from his thirty six matches with Whyteleafe, but undoubtedly provided far more for his teammates. He was picked out as one of The Guardian's 'Next Generation' whilst playing for Crystal Palace back in 2014, but it didn't quite work out for him- although he's still young enough to hope that it still might, three seasons after his Selhurst Park adventure came to an end.
