Steve takes the Ramsgate job

Ramsgate have announced the appointment of Steve Lovell as their permanent manager.

Steve took over at the Southwood Stadium earlier this month, replacing the departed Matt Longhurst. He was unable to haul their promotion train back onto the track, with defeats to rivals Ashford United and Haywards Heath Town, but they did end up only a point off the top five after he led them to victory over Whitstable Town and Chichester City- matches which saw them score eight goals and concede just one.

Steve, in his playing days, turned out for the likes of Crystal Palace, Millwall, Gillingham and Wales, and then went on to manage the Gills as well as a number of our sides. He also took on the roles of manager at Welling United and assistant boss at Bromley.
