Ryman League Premier Division

There was disappointment for Ryman Premier leaders Kingstonian on Monday night as they lost 2-1 to mid-table Metropolitan Police at Kingsmeadow in a game marked by a highly controversial opening goal, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Five minutes before half-time, the referee blew his whistle to stop play following a quick free-kick. The Kingstonian players stopped, but he took no action as the Met continued and broke for Charlie Collins to score.

The visitors pounced again in the opening minutes of the second half, as Bradley Hudson-Odoi slotted home a second. An K's attempted comeback was kick-started by Ryan Moss' headed goal in the 72nd minute but the equaliser wasn't to come with strike partner Andre McCollin going closest as he was denied by goalkeeper Stuart Searle's legs.
