My First XI: Maldon & Tiptree, Dave Garwood

Dave places his Jammers squad in a 4-3-3 formation, and also gives us a list of those who nearly made it!

Goalkeeper

Ben McNamara- Our current number one. Very solid, confident and consistent keeper with excellent shot stopping skills. He has won quite a few penalty shoot-outs for us.

Defence

(Strong cases for Gavin Greenfield and Cuba Gordon but they were just edged out by the following):

Full backs

Kyle Hammond - Strong in the tackle and rarely beaten for speed.

Billy Roast- The epitome of class and calmness. Always seemed to have time to deal with any threat. Good with both feet and in the air. Looks to use the ball really well.

Central Defence

Paul King- You won't get a more whole hearted player than Paul. A strong tackler who is always in the middle of any action.

Martyn Stokes- The second of our current players, he again oozes class. He reads the game so well and is rarely beaten on the ground or in the air, and is dangerous when going up for corners.

Midfield

(Strong consideration for Stephane Ngamvoulou, Tyrique Hyde, Charley Edge and Kieran Monliouis but finally settled on the following):

Matt Lock - Brilliant ball distribution. He reads the game so well and often puts through defence-splitting passes.

Darren McQueen- Very fast and tricky wide man. Loves cutting inside to score any number of goals.

Laste Dombaxe- Patrols the midfield as if it is his own property. Always ready to receive the ball and plays any number of accurate through balls.

Forwards

(Very difficult to choose with Charlee Hughes, Jorome Slew, Danny Parish, Femi Akinwande and Sam Newson also in the frame but I have selected the following):

Ryan Gondoh - Can turn on a sixpence, with tremendous speed and venomous shooting skills.

Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe- The quickest ever player I have seen at our level. A constant menace to any defence with a fantastic goal scoring record.

Liam Nash- Another tremendous goal scorer who only needed half a chance to convert from anywhere inside or outside of the penalty box.
