Ramsgate recover from early blow

By Peter Butcher

THREE BRIDGES wasted no time in Ryman South on Saturday, earning a penalty just 20 seconds into their home game with Ramsgate which Nigel Brake converted.

The visitors were soon level with a Curtis Robinson header and they took the lead in the 16th minute through Ian Pulman only for Joel O’Hara to respond three minutes later.

After that hectic start, it was the 82nd minute before the game was decided by Ramsgate sub Tom Chapman, who gave his side a 3-2 victory.

Jake Beecroft was the key man for Whitstable in their 2-0 home win over Eastbourne. He opened the scoring on 29 minutes (pictured by Les Biggs)and provided the cross for Scott Heard to head the second immediately after the interval. The visitors hit the bar near the end but rarely threatened otherwise.
