Leatherhead's Will signs on once more

Leatherhead have announced that highly-rated defender Will Salmon has signed on for the new season.

Will joined the club in the summer of 2018, moving along the M25 from Metropolitan Police. He made forty seven appearances in that first season, and soon became one of the first names on the teamsheet, with thirty seven more appearances during the unfinished 2019-20 and another twelve in the season that hardly started, last time out. He played in last Saturday's win at Bowers and Pitsea, but has only now signed a deal for the season.

Boss Martin McCarthy told the club website:

"As soon as I took the role, the first player I spoke to was Will Salmon. His professionalism and attitude are what set him apart from many in the game. Will approached me to discuss my vision with the club and its one we share.

Will made it clear he wanted to be part of what we’re trying to build. The professionalism we will instil together will be invaluable to the younger players. Will loves the club and the supporters, and so it was just a case of making sure we were both happy with how we move forward. It’s a great commitment from Will as I know he had offers elsewhere, and so for him to stay was a massive positive for me personally.

I trust Will to lead the club forward instilling our ideas and visions on the pitch".

Goal crazy! We had goals galore! Phoenix Sports and Tilbury got seven, Kingstonian, Hanwell Town, Felixstowe & Walton United and Whitstable Town five, and even the draws tended to be high-scoring. Read all about it here.
