A Hornet heads to the seaside

Charlie Coppola heads from Horsham to join Standen's Whitehawk revolution

Whitehawk last night announced the singing of Horsham midfielder/winger Charlie Coppola, who of course worked with his new boss, Ross Standen, for a number of years at Lewes.

Midfielder/winger Charlie has had a number of professional trials- but rather sensibly has always put medicine before football, his studies having come first throughout his career. He's currently studying medicine at Warwick University so won't always be available to play, which has been the case for a number of years.

He has also played for the England Colleges international side.

He made his Lewes debut as a seventeen year old, and has been in and out of the side since then due to his educational commitments, but was a great favourite with the fans at the Pan. Last season he managed only fourteen appearances but still grabbed five goals from the wing, and he got five in eighteen appearances the season before, and was a massive part of the side which won promotion from the South Division in 2017-18. He moved to Horsham in the summer, but hasn't actually managed to play for the Hornets during this delayed and now interrupted campaign.
