Brightlingsea Regent have announced a return to the club for defender Billy Wales, who was a crucial part of their promotion winning squad when they won promotion to the Isthmian league back in 2014.
Billy started his footballing life with FC Clacton, and has spent the vast majority of his career with the Seasiders, making more than three hundred appearances. He also had a short time with Holland FC.
Tom Austin told the Regent website:
“I’ve known Billy since he was 16 years old. He’s honest, hardworking and has real quality on the ball.
He is someone who could have always played at step 3/4 and has chosen not to in previous seasons. Now he has an opportunity to prove to himself that he is more than capable at this level."
Max Booth signed last year, coming in from Coggeshall Town, but the pandemic got firmly in the way before he could get started. The striker Max has made ten appearances for the Seed Growers last season, and two at the end of the last campaign, after moving there from Cambridge City. He previously played Isthmian football for Needham Market, and also spent time with Ipswich Town.
