Good night for Walton neighbours

By Peter Butcher

IT WAS a good night tonight (Tuesday) for the Walton neighbours in Ryman South. Walton & Hersham moved up to second place with a 2-0 home win over Three Bridges while Walton Casuals enjoyed a lone-goal victory at Ramsgate.

Bridges’ previous two away league matches had produced a 4-3 win and a 4-4 draw, but there was to be no similar feast of goals this time. Harold Odametey put Swans ahead on 25 minutes and Graeme Purdy added the second with a 57th-minute penalty.

Former Swan Glenn Stanley was the matchwinner for Casuals at Ramsgate, scoring in the 32nd minute to lift his side to eighth in the table.
