Gulls strengthen their FA Cup squad as Charles returns

Canvey Island have announced the return to the club of winger Ryan Charles, who rejoins the Gulls on a dual-registration deal with National League South neighbours Concord Rangers.

Ryan played for the Gulls during 2017-18, and was an important part of their success as they reached the North Division Playoff Final. He made twenty six appearances scoring nine times, including the second goal in the Semi-Final win over Bowers and Pitsea.

Since leaving the club he has played for Bishop's Stortford and Maldon & Tiptree, scoring four goals in twelve appearances for the Jammers last season and playing a big part in their victory over the Gulls back in February. He signed for the Beachboys in the summer.

He isn't cup-tied, so can play in the FA Cup Second Round tie against Boreham Wood tomorrow night.
