Heading north for cup reunion!

Enfield Town are heading north next summer to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the Ryman Premier club's 1967 FA Amateur Cup triumph.

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Skelmersdale United have invited the Towners to take them on in a friendly at their West Lancashire College Stadium on Saturday 30 July to mark their epic final which went to a replay at Maine Road.

After the sides drew 0-0 at Wembley, Enfield went on to lift the famous trophy with a 3-0 win and club officials say they were delighted to receive the invitation from their old foes in Lancashire.

First staged in 1894 when it was won by Old Carthusians, the competition was last staged in 1974 when Bishop's Stortford defeated Ilford. Northern League Bishop Auckland lifted the cup on a record-breaking 10 occasions.
