Hertford see last season's keeper head to Salford City

Hayes moves up

Hertford Town announced last night that their goalkeeper last season, Nick Hayes, has signed for Salford City- and indeed he played the entire ninety minutes in the Ammies first pre-season friendly against Crewe Alexandra last night.

Nick joined Town on loan from Norwich City last season, and played thirty three matches for the South Central Division club. He came through the youth ranks at Ipswich Town, spending time on loan at Dunstable Town whilst a Tractor Boy, and then after leaving Portman Road signed on for the youth squad at their East Anglian rivals at Carrow Road. As well as having a loan spell at Hertford Town, he also spent time at Lowestoft Town.

The England Under 17 international is believed to have signed on permanently at Salford rather than embarked upon another loan, but there appears to be no announcement from the club either way.
