Moatsiders help the medics

Merstham donate their stock to NHS workers

For quite a while now Merstham have given free entry to NHS workers at their home matches, but yesterday they went a step further in their drive to support their local hospital- by clearing out the food and drink from the clubhouse and delivering it directly to staff.

East Surrey Hospital, in Redhill, has almost seven hundred beds and provides Accident and Emergency services- as well as a full range of additional treatment- to a very large local population. It will be in the forefront of local community response to the current crisis; and having already seen on social media the difficulties that some NHS staff are having sourcing supplies the Moatsiders decided that their local hospital was the very best place to leave their now-surplus stock. So they loaded up the Moatmobile and headed down the A23.

Well done Merstham- it's great to see our clubs being community spirited even in times of crisis!
