Nuts and Bolts raid two rivals

Ashford United sign two players from elsewhere in the South East Division

Ashford United have announced two new signings as manager Tommy Warrilow reinforces for the last stage of the Nuts and Bolts promotion push.

United, who are currently in third place and entertain East Grinstead Town on Saturday, started by announcing a departure, with Sam Hasler returning to Folkestone Invicta after his loan deal was ended by injury. But coming into Homelands is VCD Athletic defender Jake McIntyre and Whyteleafe midfielder Laurent Mendy.

McIntyre has made twelve appearances for Athletic, most recently in their home defeat by Sittingbourne. He also played against his new club as part of the VCD defence breached four times in January. Mendy- like his new colleague part of Warrilow's side at Thamesmead Town- has made only a handful of appearances for Leafe, but was almost an ever-present for Mead last season, scoring a dozen goals.
